Tiawanese Treats

Our bosses often bring in snacks and traditional goodies. On this particular day...one of my students parents brought in these treats from Lukang.
Above...Michelle enjoying a meat-filled very soft doughy bun. Traditional breads....so soft...so delicious. Very popular out here.
On the left a bag of peanuts. On the right 2 "wax apples."
We easily go through a bag of peanuts a week if not 2 or sometimes 3.
Our friend Karen from school gave us each a wax apple to try. They are sweet, and crunchy, a different texture from a normal apple, but really enjoyable. I think that considering their small size they are quite expensive.

At the party we were taking this group photo, and this one really drunk guy was grabbing some flowers to make the picture look better....as a joke I yelled out..."No, get the Christmas tree"...I was totally joking....but nonetheless this American thought "what a great idea" and yanked the tree with all its lights still plugged into the wall.....it was a disastrous moment...but we laughed about it later.
